This is a very simple interactive two-channel audio-visual example that demonstrates 'streaming'. Click and hold to play the audio. Drag the cursor to change the pitch of the left channel and try and bring it close to the middle where the right channel plays at around 1Khz. With headphones the phasing is largely mitigated even when the continuous tones are very close in frequency.
Note, the two streams can still perceptually merge as one despite being binaurally seperated (more about this in the 'spatial' module). This makes using multiple pure tones as individual mappings in applications such as auditory graphs difficult.
